  • When should I replace my windows?

Common signs to look for include: fogging between glass panes, air coming in from the exterior, water penetration to the interior, and rotting frame / sashes (wood windows)
  • What is the difference between U-Factor and SHGC?

A window’s U-Factor rating is a measure of how well the window is going to insulate from the cold. The lower the number, the better the insulation. Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures how effective the window is going to keep out the heat. The higher the number, the better the performance.
  • What is the difference between GBG’s and SDL’s?

Both options are the muntins you see on windows to create different lite patterns. Grids Between Glass (GBG’s) are located between glass panes on a window. Simulated Divided Lites (SDL’s) are located on the outside of the glass, to both the interior of the house and exterior, and provide a more traditional looking window as the bars “protrude” from the glass. GBG’s and SDL’s can be customized with different profiles / patterns to meet any home’s needs.
